Feature Films

Beside a few purchased copies of commercial films owned by private individuals, the collection also includes a few amateur movies, such as self-made fiction films, in which the distinction between amateur and professional feature films is unclear. These films, although make up only a small number of the movies in the Niederösterreich privat collection, often reveal the filmmakers’ creative potential. Another important category in the collection is educational movies about agriculture. These movies had their first heyday in the 1930s and were intended to teach interested viewers about various techniques of land cultivation and animal husbandry.
